I haven't been able to post in the past month because we have been so busy. I am proud to now say that we are pretty much done. The only thing we have left is unpacking lol. I know what you are probably thinking.. you have been there 2 months and your still not unpacked? I would be saying the same thing to myself if I wasn't me. I never realized how hard it would be to get things done when you have an infant. She is not at the stage where she can entertain herself and she still very much likes to be held and played with. So between my job and taking care of her in the evenings, and Josh's crazy schedule we haven't really had a lot of hands free down time. We do have all of the essentials unpacked though and slowly day by day we have started going through boxes. Anyway on to the positive. I wouldn't say everything went well during the move... lots of things went wrong, but in the end everything worked itself out and that is what matters.
Most importantly, Lily's appt. at Arkansas Children's Hospital went well. Few or a lot of you may know that my young cousin Travis fought the good fight with cancer but ultimately lost his battle in that very hospital... so to even have to step foot in there with my 2 months old and the possibility that someone as young and sweet as her could have something so big wrong with her was sickening and heartbreaking. It turns out that they think she might have torn a muscle in her neck during the delivery because the lump on her neck is scar tissue. All we have to do is take her to physical therapy. Right now she has had 2 sessions, one last week and one this week. They are gonna let us do it on our own for the next two weeks now that we know how to stretch her and if it doesn't improve they want her to start coming anywhere from 3 times a week to every day. Hopefully we will be able to work it out by ourselves though.
Other than that Lily is 14 weeks old!! Some may take that as 3 months and half months. It depends how you look at it and I myself go back and forth with it. I have decided to go by the date because ultimately when talking in years you do go by the date. If I went by weeks than she would be 12 months (one year old) on March 22nd lol and she wasn't born until April 20. We took our first longer trip with her when we had to go to ACH. Josh's mom lives in Hot Springs which is only about an hour out from Little Rock, we hadn't seen them in a good long while and we hated to make Lily ride in the car seat (which she hates) for 3 hours, sit at the hospital all day, and then ride 3 hours home. That just makes for one long day. So we went up to Hot Springs the day before after Josh got off work, only had an hour to drive the next day, had her appointment and then decided drive back to Hot Springs that evening and stay one more night, and then came home the next morning. She did very well! Slept most of the drive on all of the drives. Then she had her first big Holiday which was 4th of July. We spent the day over at my parents house swimming, visiting, and eating. After that we went to our new neighbors house (a co-worker and friend of Josh's at the police station) ate and later that evening shot off fireworks. The great thing is they live right across the street and even better they have a 6 month old girl so I see some fun play dates in Lily's future! Laura and I decided to test the water with girls and covered their ears while some people shot off fireworks, I'm not sure if Lily liked it but she didn't dislike it. She stared up in the sky with amazement. Both the girls did so good. I would say it was a fun and successful first 4th for her and us.
We also have made some new friends through Josh's job named Wes and Ashton that I am so grateful for. They are wonderful to hang out with and we have so much fun with them. At our age if you aren't into partying and bar hopping it can be really hard to find people to hang with, especially ones that don't mind if you have a baby. Luckily him and Josh work the same shift so some of the nights they work Ashton comes over and hangs out and that makes the night go by faster!!
Speaking of grateful, I have a few people I would like to thank. Lora and Ben who I have to thank for coming over once a week on the weekends while Josh works to visit with Lily and keep me company. Lora has always been right there with me and I know I can count on her for anything and now I also have her wonderful husband Ben who just like her is always here and ready to help or hang out. As well as I really would love to thank my parents. They have been so wonderful my whole life but especially in times like these when I really need them. They are truly the type of parents anyone could hope they could have. They have helped with the move, and with Lily, and allowed me to come and go from the office when I needed to for Lily's Doctor appointments and other things involving her and I. I really am blessed to have them.
All of that being said I really don't have much else to talk about at the moment. I start G-Fit (a work out program) in a couple of weeks so I will be updating not only about Lily but my progress on that as well. As well as a few weeks ago I had Lily's 3 moth pictures taken so I should be getting those back any day now so be watching for those. I am also going to post her 3 month picture and all of her new stuff in a day or two so be watching for that! Have a wonderful week!
